ACG completed the construction of Muldoon Street Seg 80, Wingham Road to the Railway Crossing on behalf of MidCoast Council. The aim was to enhance safety, traffic flow, drainage and road durability, including widening the east bound lane to improve safety and visual amenity for road users, adjoining properties and the community.
CHALLENGES
With Muldoon Street being a main arterial road within Taree, Traffic Management and co-ordination with local residents and businesses were to be handled appropriately and maintained. Works within the rail corridor required the engagement of a rail protection officer and all workers trained to work within the rail corridor, to uphold safety during construction
SOLUTIONS
ACG believed planning and transparency was the key to achieving these works, with comprehensive Project Management Plan in line with NSW WHS guidelines, ARTC requirements and industry standards. Traffic and Pedestrian Management plans allowed for minimal disruption to the community and safe working zones for our crews. We completed Deep lift AC and wearing course placement during night works in stages to reduce rail corridor possession & inconvenience to residents & businesses.
INNOVATIONS
ACG were able to meet MCC requirement to keep the road open by creating one way traffic into the road and setting in place diversion to maximise efficiency and reduce road congestion.
