This project initially aimed to install a PVC sewer rising main, but due to difficulties in sourcing the necessary PVC pressure pipe within reasonable lead times, ACG proposed switching to PE to keep the project on schedule. This change involved outlining connection details to existing pipes, manholes, and a new manhole, including tying into an active sewer manhole. To minimise confined space entry and the duration of pump station shutdowns, much of the work was completed outside the manhole before connection.
Situated within an operational cemetery, the project required regular communication with cemetery stakeholders. Breaks and no-work days were scheduled to reduce noise and disruption during nearby funerals. Thorough planning prior to on-site establishment ensured minimal disruption to ongoing activities, a critical consideration given the staged nature of the project’s scope and the potential inconvenience to funeral attendees during construction.
