The Old Bar SPS08 and Associated Mains project involves the construction of a new sewage pumping station (OB-SPS-08), rising mains, gravity mains, and associated water reticulation infrastructure to service the Old Bar community.
CHALLENGES
Due to the coastal location excavation works risked disturbing potential acid sulphate soils (PASS), requiring careful monitoring of soil conditions through pH testing.
SOLUTIONS
ACG conducted daily Field pH testing and confirmatory ASS testing were undertaken, with lime dosing applied where required to neutralise acidity and ensure compliant reuse or disposal.
