ACG was engaged by Saunders International PL for Port Macquarie Hastings Council (PMHC) to construct the road approaches for five major timber bridges as part of the “Fixing Country Bridges” program. These bridges were crucial access routes to rural towns, necessitating rapid closure and reopening. Close planning with all stakeholders was essential to meet tight deadlines and ensure timely reopening.
Given the flood damage that prompted the bridge replacements, the new roadworks were vulnerable to potential water runoff and infrastructure damage. Thus, efficiency and quick project completion were paramount. Despite these challenges, ACG successfully completed the road approaches for all five bridges within the required timeframe.
Port Macquarie Hastings Council commended ACG for achieving a defect-free opening of all five bridges, highlighting the project’s success and ACG’s commitment to quality and efficiency.
The five bridges in this program included:
- Logans Crossing
- Little Mortons
- Bottlebrush No 1
- Langdons
- King Creek
