Kempsey Shire Council is currently undergoing a significant upgrade of its aging water infrastructure to secure long-term reliability for the community. ACG has been enlisted to execute specific upgrades for one of their sewerage pumping stations.
During the excavation process to reach the existing Pump Station inlet, it was revealed that the existing pipe was encased in concrete. ACG suggested redesigning the layout to relocate the new collection manhole. This adjustment significantly reduced the amount of encasement that would have required jackhammering, resulting in substantial cost savings for the Client.
ACG’s tender submission introduced an alternative solution compared to the Client’s tender brief. The proposal involved installing a series of new manholes upstream of those slated for redundancy. This adjustment eliminated the necessity for complex bypass pumping, significantly reducing the risk to the continuous operation of the pump station and incoming gravity sewer lines.
