Pacific Drive Kerb and Gutter

The outdated drainage treatments along Pacific Drive, one of Port Macquarie’s main arterial roads required urgent updating. Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (PMHC) launched a project with ACG to install new kerb and gutter systems, including laybacks.

The project began with removing damaged kerb and preparing a solid foundation for the new kerb and gutter. Pavement construction followed, integrating the new kerb & gutter and road base with the existing, ready for PMHC to seal and complete a robust finished surface. Backfilling and site rehabilitation restored and improved the area, with street furniture reinstalled for functionality and aesthetics.

Detailed staging and traffic management plans ensured the safety of pedestrians, road users, and workers, minimising disruption. The project was completed on time and within budget, showcasing effective planning and risk management.

The old wooden poles that were originally used for the kerbing were given to Koala Conservation Australia’s conservation efforts. Our crew delivered over 20 of these recycled poles to the newly established Koala Hospital facilities. Originally slated for green waste, these poles are now getting fresh start at the new koala hospital. The poles will serve various purposes from enriching koala habitats to enhancing the hospital’s landscaping. Each pole will play a role in supporting this important cause.
