PROJECT
HIGHLIGHTS

This project had extensive environment controls put in place to ensure the safeguard of the local koala population. Our care and commitment to the local habitat ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding wildlife.

AT A GLANCE

The Oxley Vale Lifelong Learning Centre stands as the realisation of a long-awaited vision fostered by the Port Macquarie Arts Society and Port Macquarie Men’s Shed. This project involved active client engagement, the construction of stormwater drainage equipped with baskets in all pits and the establishment of a bioretention basin featuring GPT to capture rainwater runoff while safeguarding the site’s natural slope.

Notably, the construction site borders a recognised koala corridor, adding an extra layer of complexity to the project. The objective was to accommodate two large buildings while safeguarding the existing koala habitat. In an effective partnership with the koala hospital and an ecologist, we rigorously adhered to all environmental standards and requirements. Our primary focus was on minimising the environmental impact, recognising the project’s significance to the Oxley Vale Lifelong Learning Centre, the Arts Society, and The Men’s Shed
