Cessnock City Council awarded the LGP420 Panel Contract to Alliance Construction Group for the construction of Landslip Remedial Package 2. This package included six landslip remediation sites on the Cessnock LGA Road networks, following major flood events in February and June 2022.
The project on Stockyard Road focused on the installation of new mass rockfill scour protection to mitigate erosion caused by surface flow and rising river waters. There were two remediation sites. At Site 1, we installed rockfill scour protection along the upper riverbank and reconstructed the road shoulder. At Site 2, we constructed a reinforced concrete footing and a 40m Mass Bloc retaining wall 3m (h) to protect the lower river embankment, along with mass rock armouring to prevent future erosion.
Through careful planning, expert execution, and a commitment to quality and safety, ACG, along with our trusted subcontractor Finn Valley Plant & Civil, successfully completed the remedial works. These efforts have enhanced the resilience and longevity of the Cessnock LGA Road network, mitigating the impacts of natural hazards and safeguarding critical infrastructure for the community.
