The current Taree Waste Management Centre was reaching its operational capacity, prompting the need for a new landfill cell to be constructed north of the existing area.
Alongside this, a new green waste processing storage area is necessary to accommodate additional green waste.
Utilising excavated material as capping for general waste, ACG, in collaboration with the client, excavated an extra 1 meter below the designated surface level, yielding an additional 20,000 cubic meters of material, potentially saving the client around $3.5 million.
Given the facility’s EPA license, there was a crucial need to ensure all material movements were properly captured and recorded within EPA requirements to mitigate risks. This project was completed on time for the Green Waste commissioning, with additional scope included.
