Port Macquarie – Hastings Council – Pappinbarra Bridge Roadworks

Port Macquarie Hastings Council replaced the Pappinbarra Junction Bridge which was destroyed on 8th November 2019 by bushfire, with a like-for-like new concrete bridge. The new bridge is positioned within the same footprint as the original timber bridge on Right Arm Road (Upper Pappinbarra). The project was funded by the NSW Government.

ACG were engaged to construct the road approaches which included; abutment construction, flexible pavement layers compacted to PMHC specification and the 2 coat spray seal and linemarking. This project was achieved while maintaining environmental controls associated with working in such close proximity to the Pappinbarra River, to protect the river system and it’s surrounding environment. ACG completed these works well within the programmed timeframe, which saw the bridge open to the public ahead of adjusted program due to floods in the area.
